I need opinions on what the poem "verities" by kim addonizio means?

In that poem, Addonizio expresses a cynical, pessimistic (yet humorous) view of life by tweaking familiar proverbs such as "Into each life some rain must fall," "Every dog has his day," "Every dark cloud has a silver lining," "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names can never hurt me," etc.
