What kind of fish should I get?

So I was wondering what kind of fish I should get! I don't have a tank yet but I was thinking maybe a 10 liter fish tank? and if i need a filter I will get one, I do not have a BUNCH of money to spend but I thought it would be a lot of fun to have a fish aquarium, I wanted a verity of fish and make it look really cool, please help!
